Melissa's biggest frustration with joining a gym in the past was elitism in other gyms and not feeling like she was getting helped enough or seeing the results she had been searching for. Corey started training with CrossFit Mass remotely during the shutdown. His big goal was to get stronger to improve his performance as a firefighter and to compete in an Ironman Triathlon.
He then transitioned to an in-person client in July when gyms were allowed to have in person sessions again. In September, we did Corey's first in-depth assessment since his start. He showed good progress, and we were able to identify some structural imbalances. His coach adjusted his program to target those imbalances and how they aligned with his overall goals. Corey worked hard over the next 90 days and then retested at the beginning of December. And man, he blew his old numbers out of the water!
Back Squat +45 pounds; Bench press +60 pounds; Front Squat +35 pounds; Deadlift +100 <- !!!!; Power Clean +20 pounds; Strict press +20 pounds; Seated BTN press +55 pounds; Weighted Pull-up, +20 pounds
All total, he improved 465 pounds across the various lifts and tests we used to assess him.
